Every country profile on this site is built from three standardized public datasets, combined by exact country name (with aliases handled by our normaliser) and published in full transparency.
Data sources
- Reporters Without Borders (RSF) — World Press Freedom Index. Annual 0–100 score for 180 countries, covering 2019–2023 in the current snapshot. Primary source for press-freedom scoring.
- Freedom House — Freedom in the World. 12-year history (2013–2024) with Political Rights (0–40), Civil Liberties (0–60), Total (0–100), and Status (Free / Partly Free / Not Free).
- World Bank — socio-economic indicators for 195 countries: GDP, population, life expectancy, urban population share, official language, capital city, geographic coordinates.
Processing
Raw files are imported into an internal database; country names are normalised via an alias map; charts are rendered server-side as inline SVG to keep pages fast and accessible. We do not edit the underlying scores.
Updates
The pipeline re-syncs weekly. The exact edition year for each country is shown on the profile.
